I suggest this ride in the middle of night. I left Edmonton at about 6. In Alberta there was traffic. Then I got to Edson, and everyone got off at tim hortons. I pressed on. Then I got to Hinton, and everyone remaining got off. I pressed on alone to Jasper. Eventually cars and trucks caught up. They all got off in Jasper. I did too, I needed gas.

But they all stopped and I got back on. There was very little traffic now.

Then I got off onto highway 16. I drove 276 kms and saw 21 other vehicles. In the last hour of driving before town, I saw only a snow plow and one semi.

6 pm after work. Lots more traffic during the day.

Nice. I do enjoy the midnight bombs to a destination. I prefer leaving late at night (after a nap) so I catch the sunrise and arrive in the AM.

Ohhh. That is a good strategy. I might have to try it this week.

With the right tunes, catching that sunrise becomes an epic experience.

All the Albertan and British Columbian Opponauts and Fallen Opponauts need to meet up somewhere in the middle. I’m in Kelowna, so maybe we could organize something.

Sounds similar to driving across montana on highway 2.

We used to do that drive after work as well, it just got better and better as all the redtags pulled off.. Then once the last ones headed off to Valemount for the night, you get another 250km of empty mountain roads- just look out for moose.

Pretty much. Gonna get more daylight as well as the days go on.

But soon I will be a red plate myself. Probably about April or so.

Not yet, our fleet only stretches to four. Are you moving to Edmonton?

Yeah. Already here for work. By end of march will be here at a residence for good. Still looking for a place, but approaching the final stages.
